CSUN

  1. Eligible Recipients: The Scholarship shall be limited to graduating seniors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, who have applied to a law school on or before the scholarship application deadline, and who gain admission to law school prior to the annual foundation Law-Day event.
  2. Advertising and Publicity: The scholarship shall be announced through student clubs and organizations, academic departments, the University Scholarship Coordinator and at the University’s scholarship opportunities website.
  3. Application Procedures: Applicants shall submit a resume, an academic transcript, an essay addressing the campus scholarship criteria below, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member. At least one campus office shall be designated for the receipt of applications.
  4. Campus Selection Process and Deadline: Completed applications shall be reviewed by the Campus Committee comprised of two faculty members and the CSUN representative to the foundation Board of Directors. The Campus Committee shall select several top applicants for personal interview. The resumes of the top three or four applicants shall be forwarded to the Scholarship Committee for consideration prior to the April meeting of the Board of Directors.
  5. Campus Criteria: Applications shall be screened and the top applicants shall be selected based on the following three criteria:
    Academic achievement; Volunteer service on or off-campus; Major challenges overcome in attaining academic goals.
  6. Foundation Selection Process: The CSUN representative to the Board of Directors shall present the background of each candidate to the Scholarship committee. The Scholarship committee shall consider the candidates and make its recommendation scholarship recipient(s).
  7. Notification and Recognition: The Scholarship Vice President shall notify the selected candidate(s). In addition to any public announcements through the Board of Directors, CSUN shall include the scholarship recipient in its Honors Convocation Ceremony.
